Re-routing vacuum line from canister

I broke the end off my charcoal canister if you're looking down at it from the driver's side, it's the far left input. Can I re-route this line into one of the other ones with a T fitting and plug up the hole on the canister? Do I need a "new" canister? Thanks,
Phil

Phil, without any info as to what u got, maybe.

That nipple would be for the carb bowl vent or could be read as the purge signal.

81 CJ7 258 I-6. It's the nipple that is raised above the rest on the far left side. Not sure what it actually vents to as it goes to a plethora of hoses under the carb (looks a lot like a O2 sensor but it's not). I'd like to just T it into another line and call it good, but the vacuum system on this beast is killing me...

Yep. Kinda small for a fix. I believe you might be needing a 'new' one.

You might do well posting a WTB thread or possibly one maybe for sell in the classified section.

Here's a pic that you can identify with:

The vacuum port labeled "C" will go to a ported valve on your carb whether it be Weber, MC2100, or stock Rochester. I'd look to get a replacement Charcoal Canister if that vacuum nipple is broken.

There's a guy on another Jeep forum who is selling parts and I bought a T5 from him and he had a Charcoal Canister laying around too. It would work for you. He's a little hard to get a hold of sometimes but will sell for cheap.

I broke one of those plastic nipples off awhile back when changing out some vacuum hoses. They get brittle and break pretty easy. What worked for me was I reamed out the hole with a drill bit a little larger than the original hole and bought a new plastic nipple. They make many different sizes, and epoxy'ed it onto the canister. Cost me about $ .25 It works and has held up so far.

I also found a write up on how someone esle did theirs.
