Stock D27's, but they will be sporting late 70's Chevy half-ton disk brakes on the front. Sorry. It looks like my post yesterday wasn't too clear.
I have a hunch that there will be forehead prints on the windshield since both Dad and I are used to how they are "supposed" to stop.

I'm debating on larger Ford 9" drums for the rear, but we have everything in inventory to do new rear stock brakes.

I would really LOVE to see a step-by-step pictorial on that. If you got/make one...

Unfortunately, I didn't get to put the caliper mounts on. Dad did that one without me and sent the pictures to torment me. I will see what I can do to get some more details and pics when I get down to the shop to work on the rest of the system; however, I doubt I could do the best job at documenting and explaining the process. Usually when we get going we forget all about taking pictures. I think there is only one of the blue 3B before we broke/ cut it in half! I will reveal that I do plan to retrofit in a dual reservoir master cylinder in as well.

To prep we had to have the knuckle ground a bit so the caliper would fit. You can see where in the third picture.

NO, Keep it! It can sit and wait for ALL the others to finish up first.

I was going to sell the YJ and replace it with the 3B - Yea. That plan "fell through."

Sorry - not much progress on my 3B. I'm stuck up here in the big city and all the cash is going towards the upcoming nuptials.
My body is sandblasted and primed now.... I still need to get on the replacement panels. Free time is at an incredible premium right now though.

Well.... This is awkward. I seem to have misplaced my primed Jeep body picture. Since I am such an awful OP, I have brought tribute of Jeep pictures.

The 3B Dad took from the lot, Lucy, is out and about earning her keep this winter.

Bonus points if you recognize what Dad's awning is.

Lucy also likes to get cleaned up and hang out with friends.

I was also able to let my YJ stretch her legs a little. She just sits around Dad's back pasture waiting for me to come visit.

I apologize for the awful sideways cellphone picture.

I still have my 3B. I don't think the guy wants a project that "strong"! I love the pic of your dad's 3. SWEET! The awning is a hood?? But it looks more like a golf cart top.

Thanks. His is still a work in process. When he's got a part done, it goes on the Jeep. It's really not much father ahead than mine. In fact, I think mine has a few more rebuilt and shiny parts on it. His is just together and driving around.

Glad to hear yours is still around. So.... Is it drivable? Kinda close enough to drivable? If we put this plywood where there should be floor, sit on a milk crate and hope we don't have to stop in a hurry drivable?
It doesn't have to look pretty to be fun.

The awning is an old 2A hood. I can see golf cart top with the snow piled up.

My 3 is NOWHERE near driveable! The front clip is pretty good, but the motor is seized. Tranny is seized. Axles barely roll. There is nothing to hold a plywood floor inplace!! Thus, no milk crate!! BUT... I want to rebuild it MORE THAN ANY OTHER JEEP I OWN! Splain that to me.

The 3B will get there, I promise!

.... At least that's what I tell myself. Hey, how about two dogs in a YJ?

Yea... That helps a little.

This is kind of sad. It's been well more than a year and I really have no good progress to report. I'm still living 200 miles away from where my 3B is sitting. Trying to do the whole responsible adult thing.

The good news is that my 3B's body is in one piece. All the extra holes filled. Dad just tool delivery of the last body panel that needed attention, a tailgate surround that needed replaced. It should be ready to paint with little effort. I'm hopeful that this summer will be THE summer.

In other news and to toss in some pictures, Dad's 3B is still humming along well.

He also decided he wanted a unique winter driver. Since he kicked himself for not picking up a J20 back in 1980, he rectified that with old Rusty here.

This past September, my wife and I traded in apartment life for a house with a back yard and a garage. Working on projects here and there on the house has taken a lot of time, but I enjoy it so much more than living in the apartment.

Dad brought up a kick *** housewarming gift.

I took up rock climbing at a local park.

And we got a 6 week old Pit Bull puppy in October to further occupy our time.

And then she got a bit bigger.

She's 5 months old now and a little over 30 lbs. She will conservatively double her size now.

Now I'm sitting here going through some serious Jeep withdrawals. In the next week or so I hope to find some time to escape back down to Dad's place and bring my YJ up here now that I have a spot for it. It's not in the best of shape, but it runs and stops under its own power. That, and my sanity cannot take much longer without having regular contact with my Jeep. once the CJ is done, the YJ will probably head back to my parent's place for some much needed body and paint work.

I also wouldn't mind getting my M416 in shape to use with the YJ...

...but lets not get too far ahead here.

Hey Jerry. Really GREAT to hear from you. Congrats on the marriage, the house, the dog... did I miss anything? Any babies yet??? Just practice?? Love the pics of your dad's 3B with the Heeler. Reminds me of my old Heeler which was the best dog I ever had. Some day I'll get another. I still have my 3B, sitting in the garage, covered in junk because my wife thinks it's handy, but I still have it! Keep plugging way Son. Life is tough but much, much worth it.
