Hey fellas- My radiator has an overfill hose at the top and when I top off the water, after driving for a while, it overflows out the tube and onto the ground. So then my radiator is a little low. Nothing major, but was wondering if this is normal. It seem to run a tad warm after it leaks out the small about and when I fill it back to the top, it's back to normal...until is dribbles out again.
Yes. In most newer vehicles you have a radiator overflow container. That's where the overflow goes and then the hose can pull it back into the radiator as needed. I don't have an overflow container so I suffer from the same problem you do. I check my fluid once a week to see how it's doing.
A solution would be to get a universal one from your local parts store and then mount it to the body and rerun the hose from the side of your radiator to the overflow container.
It shouldn't overflow if everything else is right. Check your radiator cap, thermostat, etc. Also, the radiatior isn't suppose to be filled to the top.
