Quick Ignition help for a new jeep guy needed.
Found some dude on the side of the road this morning while I was on the way to work. He was walking around his CJ-7 looking a little lost so I doubled back to see if I could help.
His jeep cut off and wouldn't fire back up except just a bit right when the key came back through the "run" position. I took a quick glance under the hood and fixed the fuel filter so it sits right now, but it still wouldn't catch. I could feel the fuel cool the filter off when he cranked it so I think its getting fuel. My guess is red wire on the ignition module is loose.
What I know: late model CJ-7, 258, webber, pretty sure its a motorcraft style ign. but I couldn't see the module (didn't have a lot of time). Smelled really rich and fuelly. Little puff of white smoke out the tail pipe when it would catch. Unknown if nuttered but I didn't see alot of wires on the top and it has a webber so I think it would have to be.
