Quick Help!!!

Hey guys - Installing my new Damper on a 350 - I thought the damper should go farther on the crank than this, but looking at the timing marks, I think it may be ok, but wanted some opinions. I broke one installer already trying to get it on farther. Removed it, heated it up with boiling water and went at it again! What's your thoughts?

I oiled it up pretty good - It went on the first 1/2 inch or so fine - Initially I didn't think it was enough, but if it went any further you wouldn't be able to see the timing marks.

That's it!

It's right guys - I took the old damper and put a new timing oil seal on it and lined up the old groove on the damper with the seal spring. Held that up to the timing cover and they were identical; SO I guess that's it. - Thanks for the input Scrambled.

if its fully seated it should be good..Some ballancers like that look a little off but are correct..just hard to tell online..while your at that stage you should find true tdc and compare to the balancers timing marks..

Thanks - I did that while I still had the heads off. I slid the old Damper on the crank just enough to get it over the key, then made sure the TDC mark was correct and believe it or not it was I couldn't believe something finally worked out correctly!
