Question after "NUtter Bypass"
I just recently finished my 83' CJ7 and upgraded to a Motorcraft 2100 and I finally did the Nutter Bypass last night. As expected my timing advanced and was reset to 8 degrees BTDC. Most articles I read said that once this bypass was complete the once limited 258 would now turn 4000 RPM's with ease. My jeep still turns out 3000 or so on the tach. While performance is definitely improved, I was wondering what could be holding my CJ back from the 4000 range now. Could it be a PVC issue? Thanks for any help!

check...
I've done mine about a year ago. I also added a 2100 which great. You didn't mention this, but did you change your accelerator cable, adjust it, or shorten it. I had a Weber that was a pull down and going to the 2100 which is a pull back on the accelerator cable, there is some slack in the cable. I didn't adjust mine so that i couldn't floor it and use alot of gas. [think of it as a self regulator] Now if i wanted more power, then i need to shorten it to use the 2100 to its full capacity.
