Question about wheel spacers

Is it my imagination or can wheel spacers make your cj handle better on the road. I installed 1 ½” spacers last night & I swear it handles better?

they do provide you with a wider track for sure. that may be most of what you're feeling. i've also read complaints about premature bearing wear because of them.

I ran 2" spacers for years. You will hear a lot about them loosening, wearing bearings, etc. Torque them (with a torque wrench) to 100 ftlbs and they are fine. The bearing thing is ture to some extent but not any more than running wheels with less back spacing.

Mine tracked better with spacers because they placed the wheels closer to the width of the standard rut in the road.
