Pushed my CJ-5 hard yesterday... *pics*

Took my 81 CJ-5 out and pushed it hard for the first time the other day. We didn't have a camera when we were out wheeling but we got in some deep mud a couple of times but mostly crawled up and down some really steep hills. I was surpised what it was able to get up with no trouble at all! Many times we were on three wheels and on two a couple of times... At some points while climbing up these very steep hills/riverbanks my friend Nick was holding on to the "oh ****" bar like his life depended on it! Haha... fun stuff.

Blumenthals in Oklahoma City did my front and rear driveshafts after I had previously broken both the stock ones... this was there first real test and they did GREAT! Thanks guys!

Anyways, a pic of the morning after and a crappy camera phone photo of where we were parked for a piss break in the midst of wheeling.

Next time I go wheeling, which will hopefully be soon, I'll be back with some videos.

Pic #3 is why I need to fab a snorkel. Went through some kinda deep water a couple weeks ago and the fan threw a bunch of muddy water all over under the hood, clogged my air filter.

Yeah, mine actually got some mud through the filter, pretty much clogged it all up but luckely is the washable type. I ran it for a while afterwards, almost stalled after hitting the water.

If someone could chime in on that? I do believe you need at least 50 posts in the Techincal Areas of the Forum... then just add the [.IMG]imageurl[./IMG] without the .'s around the url of the image!

Climbing in a jeep

Yes, jeeps routinely climb beyond my ability to stick with it. I frequently give up before my CJ7 does. It doesn't mind rolling over and getting thrashed, I do, I have to fix it if/when it does.
