Mounted the bushwackers to the sides and fenders just long enough to then take them off and pull the tub.

Have some touch up welding to do then I'm going to spray the Herculiner after my son gets it prepped.

Hope to have it out for paint sometime in November.

Pulled the tub and put this in its place:

Back to it's resting place.

Fatman, are you spraying the herculiner inside the tub and on the underside? How many gallons did you buy? I'm trying to get an idea of how much I will need for my scrambler as the day of the spray is coming close and the tub will finally meet the frame again.

P.S. Everything looks great!

I shot 1 gallon inside my CJ5 tub and it was perfect.. nice and thick. If I were gonna shoot a CJ8 inside and underbelly, I'd probably pick up 3 gallons. About 1.5-2 gals inside and the rest underneath.

When you trim it, will you intrude where the inside wheel well ties into the body? If so, more sheet metal work required to tie it back in?

Phil,
I'm going to shoot the inside, underside and inside of front fenders. I'm thinking about the engine side of the firewall but can't get a clear answer on how the product holds up to heat.

I bought (2) gallons form Ace Hardware: LINK Herculiner Kit 8105173 HCL0B8

And I bought a quart for the sprayer from car quest: Herculiner Spray Can QT HCL0B4

I also bought (4) quarts of Herculiner UV Protectant Top Coat HAL1B7

I bought enough that once I'm done I should have enough to shoot the bed in my F150, if not then I'll just order more.

Brian,
In that pic, I've already trimed over an inch off the rear of the fender and rolled the edge over against the fender well. I'm not going to cut out anymore than what's shown.

I am going to make the 1 1/4" rolled edge at the bottom flush with the rest of the fender and tub. I'm making up some 3/16" rocker panels and will run them full length and under the flares.

Of course I'll have pics of those too.

I tacked in some 1/2" conduit inside the fenders to run wires for lighting, aux lights, elect fan, etc.

Well if this don't beat all.
Went to pick up my steel and they cut my indicator holes too long on my dash.
Oh well, the new one will be ready tomorrow.
I bet once I lay out my gauges they'll be real eager to cut em for me.
Went 16ga for the dash, should hold up well.

Good news is I also got my rockers done. Going to mark the tub and weld 7/16" thread to the inside of the rockers so I don't have any bolts showing. Rockers are 3/16 Plate steel 5" to the brake and 2" under. Overall 60"
