I read earlier in this thread that the paint you used was Valspar urban beige. I went to Lowes because they sell Valspar and they say they've never heard of urban beige. How long ago did you paint the rig? I guess it might be discontinued. BTW I love your rig! The color reminds me of our tan hummers in Iraq after a liberal coating of desert dust and grime.

It's been about a year, I've also heard that it has been discontinued.

OK, thanks. Valspar had something that looked similar, looks like I'll be giving it a try. Hope you bought enough urban beige for touch ups.

So I'm at a bit of a dilemma and I need your opinions. I have this nice new aluminum radiator that is going to have the two puller electric fans that are on my current setup mounted to it like they are now. My question is would a shroud built from a flat sheet of aluminum with the circles cut out for the fans and mounted with a 1/2 inch gap between the radiator and shroud/fans help or hinder? I'm thinking it would help while crawling but hurt while cruising down the road

I think a flat piece would hinder it, Without the "funnel" shape to draw air through the entire rad. Flat would just draw it through the holes only.

I just read through your whole thread today, what nice work you have accomplished, congrats! Do you have any more details on the anti-wrap bar? Is it custom made by you?

Thanks, Lee

Thanks, the anti wrap bar started a a DIY kit from Barnes 4x4. I customized it a little to make it fit better with my shock setup. I was afraid that it was going to negatively affect my off road performance due to it acting like a lever pushing up on the frame and causing wheel hop, but it was able to keep the top tube parallel with the ground thus keeping wheel hop down. After wheeling the other week I decided that it helped off road performance and kept my pinion from pointing at the bottom of the tub.

How do you like the t-18/4.56gear/35's combo? Ever drive it on the highway?

1st gear is nice on the trail and on the street it's geared good but I wish I had an overdrive gear because at 64 mph it's at almost 3 grand on the tach.

If you were to do it again would you recommend 4.10's?

No but mine is not a daily driver so the top end doesn't bother me and I love how slow I can crawl now.

Went out and fired it up for the first time in about a month, purred like a kitten. Let it run for a little bit and wished it was warm outside so I could enjoy driving it, shut it down and went back inside. Stay tuned I have another mod on its way...
