Project Impulse 2 - Keep or Sell or ????
The pictures don't really do this justice. You can't sit in the seat in the body even. Pieces fell off as I drove the trailer down the road just to give you an idea on this...
To be continued.... ![]()

Have fun with that... I can see it now, the vinyl hood stickers you have made on Ebay will say "Money Pit" and will get huge laughs from other Jeepers.

Holy Toledo! That Jeep might be worth even more here than a non-rusty one just because nobody in AZ has EVER seen a Jeep that eaten up. Wow. Good luck.

HA! It is nice to see someone else as crazy as I am to take on 2 Jeep projects at the same time! Just don't start working on the new one and let the old one fall by the way side. I still feel guilty....

Nah, we won't let mine fall to the side. We'll split our time between the two. As it is, mine's almost done until it warms up anyways so we can do glass work and paint it. |

I've got an Explorer as well (in the process of selling though) and my Grand Cherokee. I'm also planning on buying an R6 in Spring and I may also swap a 5.9 into my Grand Cherokee before too long as well... This doesn't include atvs/snowmobiles/dirt bikes/etc etc either.

Well congratulations on your other toys, but that wasn't really directed at you. The quoted text should have been some clue as to that, so thanks for taking my post out of context.
![]() I was just poking fun at someone for claiming that two CJ projects was crazy. |

Well, the thing actually runs!
It's been sitting for some time, so the starter is junk, so we swapped that out with one from mcurcio's Jeep to get it to run. The battery also lost all charge, so we borrowed that as well. Then fuel is junk so we'll have to drop the tank and get it cleaned out and rebuild the carb. But it's got great compression, the fluids all look amazing....and we dumped some gas in the carb and got the bad boy to fire up! We've got a few leads on a body, and already some people asking to buy it! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Bought a tub today for it. No rust on it basically but we do need to repair the roll bar mounting spot. There is a dent in the rear, but we might just diamond plate over it or something not sure yet.
They guy we bought it from was really socially awkward...but I don't think backing a trailer into his garage door helped the situation. ![]() In my defense, I've only driven that trailer 3-5 times or something and with the van we were using, you cannot see the dove tail when sitting in the drivers seat when looking at any mirrors - the vehicle sits too low. In my dad's Expedition, I could see it fine so I didn't forget that it was there like I did today...since some how I got volunteered as designated trailer backer upper... ![]() There's still lots more work to be done on this thing... ![]() Hope to have it running on it's own tomorrow and get most, if not all of the body removed. Then maybe work on it a little during the week to get the frame and axles grinded/wire wheeled down and repainted with some rustoleum. |

Kyle.....how were you able to locate a tub so quickly? CL, Ebay, local wheelin' clubs? I'm curious as I'm in the market for a decent tub too and haven't heard or seen anything within 250 miles of here. Maybe it's an "out west" thing??

Use Search Tempest. It searches all craigslists at once. We basically have found everything we could possibly need to do the this and finish is, we just haven't bought anything else as we don't know if we'll need it or not just yet.
