Project CJ2-ubed
We've recently restored a 1947 Willys CJ2-a, and the old body was going to be scrapped. So, I took it over to build a rock crawler/ trail buggy. All I had to start with was the old rotten tub itself. The frame and cage was built from scratch with 1 3/4" tubing. The motor, trans, and 241 transfer case is out of a new JK. A GM 14 bolt, rear, and dana 60 front 4 linked for axles. Coil springs in the rear, and ORI struts in the front. PSC motorsports full hydro steering. Here are a few pics of the project so far. Adam

I always feel bad for you guys who have to build-up your rig from scrap parts, with hand tools, under a tarp in your back-yard...
J/K (thought I'd go fo a bit of humor, and subscribe at the same time) very nice set-up Hoss

Thanks guys, I'm using a pro tools 105 bender, by hand.
The drive train came out of a Hemi swap I did in to a JK, and the rock track 241 out of a TJ Rubi. |

That's an awesome build...love the tube work and using the old CJ2 body. It's much cooler than just some sheet metal between the tubes. looking forward to more pics.

Sic, you do some AWESOME fab work. I read every post you did on Pirate with that white TJ build.
Killer! Way to save the dead on this one, that tub deserves better than a scrap yard. Subscribed!

That thing is sweet! Can't wait to see it finished.
But educate someone with zero fab skills, in this pic: ![]() Isn't the attachment point for the shoulder harness way to low? I keep reading that the ends of the shoulder straps need to be level or a little above the shoulders to aviod spinal compression. I mean, it looks way cool and slick, but is it right or wrong?
