Anyways, here's the wheel that I purchased. I figured that it should work out fine since I have power steering.

I had the same wheel. For the 1st hour or two you'll need to wear driving gloves. There is a thin anti-fade coating, that if you wear it off w/your hands' skin oils, will cause it ti prematurely wear. The gloves remove, and break in the foam properly.

BTW, this will make your silver pop until you stripe it. All the kool kids are getting them.

Head unit, amps, speakers, subs, etc have been installed and hooked up. Still have to do some fine tuning, but this system rocks. I just got back from taking a cruise and hearing music with no top on the Jeep is no issue. I'm not going to win any sounds offs nor will it rattle anybody's window (except mine), but I'm happy with it.
Now I have to tackle a power steering leak that just started today. It's always something with the old rigs.....

Steps look fantastic! You gonna put the anti-skid tape on them?

Now, the only thing to complete this task is to figure out a good way to get the gear wheel onto the end of the knob control rod. This should be fun....
I love stuff like this. Great job; your Jeep looks incredible.

Yes, looking for some tape. I think a trip to the ol skateboard shop is in order to get some deck tape.

Thanks bro..... Many hours and money has gone into this thing. I'm just about to the point where I'm done buying things for it and actually enjoying it.

P-23, I know how you feel about cancer, but I thought I'd share this here and I posted it elsewhere:
"I cut my ponytail off yesterday, after 2 years. 14-16"s for "Locks of Love". And put my contacts in for the 1st time in 10 years. At first my wife didn't recognize me. Then she hugged me and said "You look as young as the pool guy".
We don't have a pool!

Power steering leak has been fixed. One of the lines from the reservoir was loose. 5 minutes fix and Project 23 is no longer leaving a trail of power steering fluid throughout the street......

I stopped at the local skate shop to buy some grip tape for my side steps. Well, 45 minutes later I walk out with some new Vans, couple T-shirts, stickers and a new Santa Cruz Skateboard hat. The thing is, I wasn't a skater when I was younger. I rode BMX bikes and we hated skateboarders. What the heck was I thinking.......

edit...... I did get the grip tape as well

Looking good!! What did you go with for your amps, head unit and speakers? in the process of looking to put together my radio, speakers and amps setup and would like to see what other people are using. Right now I'm looking at polk 5.25 and 6x9 as they are marine rated.

Drove Project 23 to work today. I was late for work as I stopped at the local gas station for a Gatorade and breakfast sandwich. When I went back out to get back on the road, I had an older gentleman checking out the Jeep. We started chatting and 30 minutes later I was finally on my way.
When I got to work I was stopped by a doctor (I work for a large hospital system in northeast Ohio) who started to ask questions. The big question was, how much would I sell Project 23 for. I said that I had no real interest in selling it, but if he comes up with a number that would get my attention I might just sell it. So, that was approx an hour ago and he's called me 6 times so far asking me questions about it.
I will keep everybody posted......

I was really digging the saw blade image on the back of your seat, and I thought that was very unique. I was also wondering WHY anyone would have a saw blade on their seat, but I thought it looked cool! Now it's GONE! Truly, I DID think it was neat looking, but the image needed bigger teeth.

Great work on the box and beautiful Jeep.
