Disregard the above info-it doesn't apply to your Jeep. Basically, youi'll have to change everything between the steering column and the steering knuckles. It's a worthwile upgrade, and commonly done, but it's not just a simple bolt-in. If you go to earlycj5.com there's TONS of info on this swap.

Converting my Old CJ5 to power steering

Im using a power steering conversion kit from Herm the Overdrive Guy that uses a F150 steering box. I cannot get the old 1968 steering box removed from the steering shaft. I unbolted the steering box from the frame and unbolted the steering shaft from the dash and unbolted the clamp around the steering shaft at the steering box. Ive huffed and puffed but cannot separated the two. Am I missing something?

The steering shaft is part of the box. Your best best is to drop both the shaft and box out the bottom of the Jeep.
