He made one hell of an impact on the genre. He's one of my all-time faves and will be sorely missed. This new stuff I don't consider country.

Preach it. Old George had something to say about that. He was asked about singers like Taylor Swift and some of these other pop stars pretending to be country.

He said they should get their own genre of music and leave country alone.

What an inspiration! Not only the music he created, and the steadfast attitude to his genre. The possum partied like a rockstar for A LOT of years and lived a long life. Rest in peace Mr. Jones! Thank u for decades of music to listen to while enjoying a cold beverage with family and friends!
