That set up is trick! Although for that length of shackle perhaps TWO threaded rods would be appropriate

The interesting part was it was bent, so it actually pulled the shackle in on one side... it is long since gone, but I love the picture of that... and the size of the shackles.

But because the rod was threaded, you could just turn the nuts out on the offending side and call it good.
