Daddy got a new Jeep. The tailgate was in the way of the swing away tire carrier the PO put on, so he modified the tailgate to accommodate.

i bought my CJ5 from a guy that had it 3 months before selling it to me.....the guy didnt know a darn thing bout Jeeps as he thought it was a CJ7......as told the headlights didnt work when i bought it....no big deal its a cheap part.....while waiting for the switch to come in my brother and i pulled it into the garage to change the oil cause it was raining....happened to notice a switch under the steering column so i flipped it.....headlights came on....still havent put the new switch in....

still havent figured out why it the damn thing starts right up when its over 80 degrees out but not when its under 80......85* starts up on the first crank no matter how long its sat.....75* and it wont start.........

Wow, I'm giggling pretty hard here. And all I can think is BOY! have I lucked out! I just hope I never become the PO of my CJ5 as after fixing the sterio and headlights my wire is wrapped in yellow and balck electrical tape that looks like caution tape (I can't complain, it followed DH home from work ) and she'd end up posted on here LOL

But honestly other than a few zip ties holding a few hoses in place, I'm golden...but then it is still early in my Jeep ownership so I may have to change my story before long...

Ahh, the old "push on it until it fits" trick. So we meet again.

My 83's PO installed a body lift, made out of old deep impact sockets. 18mm to be exact.

Had wires running to nowhere, and required a special starting sequence. 1st, turn on the key. 2nd put in reverse. 3rd turn they to the full on/start position and flip the toggle switch on the dash. Never tried to figure out how it was rigged, I bought a painless kit and just replaced the hole damn thing.

some of the fuses were replaced with half burnt fusable links or breakers from a residential breaker box?????????

Roll cage, seat brackets, and tail gate were all welded to the tub.

swapped in a TJ dana 35 rear with the 3.07's, then pulled out the auto trans and replaced it with a T5 out of what appears to be a late model camero. Impossible to get out of third gear and no 4 wheel drive.

the good:
Brand spanking new 33x12.5 TSL's
Brand spanking new crate motor.

everything else was a pile of ****

Yeah, I know. Can you believe the nerve of my PO. Guy put in a turbo, swapped in an 8.8 with an Eaton E-locker, re-geared it, put 35inch BFG KM2's, repainted it, tinted the windows, built a custom rack, added 4 Hella lights, OR FAB front bumpers, Warn winch, and some sort of custom sliders. Oh, and he had the nerve to put some wierd dif covers on, I think they are called ARB.

I mean, I could just kill this guy.

I think I'm going to order this bracket.. It looks beefy and I think it will solve most of my bracket issue then I will build a decent brace. Anybody ever use this bracket?? How do you like it??
