When I had my older phone, I did this:

Certain cases come with belt clips and such that you can do the above.

Now I have a 6plus and either leave it face up on the console or stick it under my leg/crotch and feel it vibrate.

I only view the call and then pull over and return it OR a quick text at a long red light only.....not while in motion.

I think ram mounts makes one, otherwise motorcycle bar mounts.

I got one from Jake at CartoTracks. He sells them so you can use his mapping App better, but it works great for holding my phone. It has a clamp for the roll bar and then some Ram pieces to hold the phone.

I got a $40 BT radio from Amazon and it rings through the stereo. Actually works pretty good, I have had a call with the top off and noisy engine.

If I could hear my phone ring in the Jeep I couldn't hear to talk over it. Would need to turn down the SiriusXM radio to talk. I need both hands to drive anyway. I do hang a strap from the footman loop next to the rearview and hang cell in case and two way radio from it. Helps me keep up with them!

I have the iPhone 4 with an otter box case, it comes with a belt clip. I took the belt clip and hung it side ways from the clip that holds my cb mouth piece, works great! I would post a pic but I won't be home for 2 weeks, leaving for vacation!

I purchased an iOttie windshield mount. It mounts with a suction cup to the dash and holds the phone with spring tension. I was skeptical that it would work as most suction cup mounts fall off the window in short order. But I've been thrilled with this one. I've had my Samsung S4 in a protective cover mounted to the dash and even in the most severe rocky trails i've been on, that thing has held on. I've taken it off the Jeep and put it back in my truck several times and the stick to the dash still holds up even after a year. Not very expensive either - I got mine on a special deal for $13 bucks.

Buy on Amazon

I use one of these:

There's a small flat metal piece that adheres to the back of your phone and then you can mount the magnet receiver anywhere on your dash. It's a really clean look and has never fallen off in the year I've been using it. Not cumbersome either.

These guys make mounts that work with an Otter Box, for lots of common phones.

+1 For RAM mount.

The bases and arms are interchangeable which makes using them for multiple purposes really great.

I have a handlebar mount for my motorcycle, and a suction cup that I use in my jeep and car
