It is YJ tub! I plan to clean up the channel and coat it. I actually may use the same stuff I used on the inside of my frame from Eastwood. Yeah, I wondered the same thing about why there were two capture nuts there. I have done all of the YJ-CJ mods and these three spots were the only rust on the tub.

Yep, that's what I used in spaces like that, that would be concealed. Their internal frame paint. I would then grind away small circles and hole edges where the spot welds would go for good contact and penetration.

I don't remember, are you using the YJ tailgate?

I noticed while searching for a CJ hard top, YJ's tops are far more common and in better condition.

Nooooooooo.... CJ tailgate. I have a hard top, although it has been behind the shed for 4 yrs now. I should just sell it since I will never use it.

finally got around to finishing the two small patches under the roll bar. Turned out pretty good. Now onto the biggest patch and I am done welding on the tub. Mostly cut out. I need to cut the spot welds on the side of the tub. I may just lap weld the front and inside edge. I have one of those tools that stamps the metal down to make a seat. I dunno...

Dang, Paul. You're looking like a Pro, Buddy! Good job. This will be a part that you will be very glad to complete, and very proud of.

A flanging tool. That's what I used on the tunnel side of my one floor. If it's a cheap one from HF, don't use it on any new 18 ga. but the old body metal should be fine. They break pretty easy. And the puncher gets clogged easy and won't release from you metal without dissassembly. It's a handy tool if it's good quality.

That's it! Yeah, cheap HF one. I figure it would make suspending the pan easier. Just seam seal the crap out of it from under the tub. I gotta fix the bottom of the A pillar too. Rusted pretty good where it met the pan.

Paul that's a real nice floor pan section. Where did you get that from if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks for the kind words guys! About 1/2 way finished welding it. My back is stiff now from leaning over so much. Sucks getting old. Gary, the pan is from Morris4x4.com The brand is KEYPARTS and I am very pleased with the quality.

This brings back nightmar.... er, I mean memories. Yeah that's it, sweet memories!
Looks good Paul. How is the fit of the "S" curve corner compared to the tub? It looks to match pretty well. I don't recall hearing of KeyParts. Is it a rebrand of MD Juan's stuff or a different stamping?

Looks good P! On the 86 when I put the family bar in I will need to patch the areas under the roll bar behind both front seats. I am paying gas, beer, and pizza for when you come to do them.
