The best way to do a job that you really don't want to do is to just knuckle down and get it done. Procrastinating gets you nothing but anxiety. I know. Just do it, and be done with it. You will find it is MUCH more interesting than you expected, and you will be proud of your results. Guaranteed!

Yeah, yeah.... I'm getting to it....

I need to straighten one of the legs on some side steps I purchased. Would you heat the area and try to straighten or make a cut on the caved-in side, pull it straight letting the cut open up and then weld a reinforcing patch over the cut? I suppose I could rip some EMT or similar pipe to make a curved patch?

Paul, do you have enough meat on the curved section to grab it in a vise and cold bend the other side back in place?

I would do a combo of both, a relief cut, and heat to bend. When it's straight I would then fill the gap with weld, do some grinding , more welding . And finish grinding.

Did not get a lot of Jeep time this weekend. Test fitted some pieces. Need to drill holes for fender flares and rocker trim. I am commited to cutting out floor patches this week.... maybe...

Body parts are from 7 different Jeeps. Only thing original is the hood and windshield.

Does anyone have a set of OEM fenders off their Jeep that could give me a measurement or two? As you an see, the PO did some modifications to the hole where the fenders bolt to the grille. I would like to fix this. There is a seam... maybe a measurement off that seam to the center of the holes?
