This may appear to be an illusion of the camera, but I assure you it is not. Look at the frame vs axle angle and you can see how bent this thing is! It starts to bend out about where the arrow is pointing.

Thanks! I am further north in the Alexandria area.

Not much progress today. Removed rear bumper, dropped gas tank and drained fluids from engine, trans, TC and axles. Removed brake and fuel lines. Hoping this week I will be done with the tear down. Stopping to take pictures of everything and bagging is slow work.

My goal before Spring gets here is re-gear the Dana 30 and get everything into a rolling chassis. I have aready rebuilt the AMC20 and the Dana 30. Engine is ready to go in and I also previously rebuilt the TF999 and Dana 300. I think I am on track.

Paul, when I towed our Jeep home with the towbar, it was constantly trying pass me on the left side. I had to hug the right line to keep the Jeep inside the center line. If you remember our thread from way back, we had frame issues too. Measure your diagonals and see how far out of whack you are. It cost me $100 to straighten our frame. And I'm willing to BET you can do it by yourself! Don't be discouraged, and don't go buy another frame... yet!

I wanted to finish the tear down today but ran out of steam. Almost there. I won't go into the stupid details, but when I was removing the rear axle I thought I had a grand idea to do it very easily. Turns out the frame makes a great seesaw when you leave the front axle in and support the frame in the wrong place. Had the garage door up and almost ended up with the rear end of the frame embedded in the door.

Scott, as you can see in the background I'm not worried about the frame.

I posted earlier and then noticed this thread isn't rated and it needs to be! You're doing excellent work Paul and it needs to be recognized.

Thanks Jim! I can't wait to start building it back up.

All 4 frame nuts for the sway bar mount spun trying to remove. Since the frame will be headed to the recycler I was thinking I would cut open the frame with my OA torch but now that I think about it I do not think there is a nut inside. I think they are just a threaded barrel inserts. Guess I will just grind the heads off.

Out with the old, in with the new.

Todays project (after I watch some hockey) is to figure out where the skid needs to go for my I6/TF999 combo. Drill some holes and weld in frame nuts. I will take multiple measurements from some common points between the two frames. Also need to figure out where to drill holes for the front shock towers. Not quite sure how I will figure that one out just yet.

Got the sway bar mounts off this morning too. Forgot how much I like my OA torch! Just used it to cut the heads off the bolts.

Is that a Throttle Down Kustoms frame?

Paul, if I keep looking at your avatar I may have to order a ss header and hang it on the wall in my office, it sure looks nice! I thought long and hard about a Offy intake Borla header and went with a factory cast iron manifold and stock aluminum intake. After some time on the road, I may look at an intake/exhaust/4.0 head swap if the power of the stock parts and tbi do not meet my needs.
