Crabtree hangers arrived and are awesome. Thanks Jim! Got the compressor bolted to floor with isolator pads and ran the break-in. Was planning on piping the garage tomorrow but going out on a buddy's boat instead. Sunday it is supposed to rain so will get it done then.

Compressor got me side tracked but will get back to welding the frame soon.... hopefully....

Now that the compressor plumbing is out of the way, I can move on to the frame.... maybe... the machine shop called and my engine is ready to pick up.

Good job on the plumbing Paul. Doing it right at the start will help down the road.

Paul,

the most satisfying upgrade I have done thus far is installing Crabtree Shackle Hangers because they were made by a guy right here on the forum that we have all come to know and love!

1985 CJ-7, fuel injected 258, 2.5" Rubicon Express Extreme Duty Lift, 1" Body lift, Crabtree Shackle Hangers, T-5, Dana 300 w/ 4:1 Teralow kit, Dana 30, AMC 20 w/1 piece axle, 3.73 's with Detroit Truetrac front and rear, riding on 32x11.5x15" Cooper Discoverer STT mud terrains

It's at the other end of the garage, about 26' from the air hookup in the pics.

Agree 100%! Hopefully Jim does not get so big that he outsources the work overseas to be mass produced in China.

Hey... what color blue is your CJ? Is that slate blue? Your color CJ is one of the 4 colors I like the best.

Nice air piping!

Consider adding another block behind the QD's if you are prone to tripping over the hose like I am

Picked up my 258 from the machine shop today at lunch. I really like the guys there. Chatted with them for over an hour about how to do this, how to do that. They said if I had any questions putting it together to call or stop by any time. For those that live in Northern Virginia you probably know of them... Fairfax Auto Machine Shop in Merrifield. They have been in the same location as long as I can remember since the early '80s.

They had to bore .040 over. Crank was ground .010. Head was milled .010. 3-angle valve job and they also lapped the valves and installed my springs and checked valve height vs specs from comp cam kit. Replaced two intake valves. Installed new cam bearings, freeze plugs and oil galley plugs. They also installed the rings on the new pistons which was a nice surprise. Kit also has clevite bearings and all FelPro gaskets.

I need to get it out of my truck and on the stand still. I will post pics later.

Add in my comp cam kit and I am at about 1200.00. Everything else will be coming over from my running, but tired, 258.
