Motion Lights All Around the House. Then a couple of dogs to watch for the lights comming on.
I have a neighbor that complains about my dogs leaving the yard. Her kids calls the pup and wistles for the pup and the parents say nothing. I even caught them tying to call the dogs & pup accross a busy street on the other corner of property. Would not even correct their kids. Then they complain when pup 6-8 months old at time greats them infront of my home 2-3 ft from the curb. I have 3 the 14 yr old on way out, 4 yr old and a pup that is learning and just turned 1. Funny thing happened Rice car and 6 crotch rockets, bunch of Asian Kids came in cauldisac 7 weeks or so ago, my 3 dogs unleased went to the property line watch them come in and go out. Just stood there and watched. Coolest thing to see. Do you think the kids will come back with 3 loose dogs watching them. Neighbor did not say a thing. Funny how things go. I also leave my dogs in the Jeep CJ they protect it. |

I broke a hub one time at a off road "park" during superboawl weekend.
Tire came off. While I was waiting for a towtruck at a gas station, some idiot stole my tire. Then he broke in my locked console, and stole loose change, radio, and my camera (I was an art student, was a nice one) I never got to see the pics I took of 2 dykes having sex, AND 2 dogs humping under a lifted F-250. Sad day. You might never see those events on the same day again. and really, who steals a tire?

Or you could buy a couple of the Tuffy security bolts made for things like winches.

I'm not worried. I have no need to be.
I have a cheap Chinese made winch.

The reason I don't lock my glove box door is that it would cost way more to replace and repaint the bent and twisted metal dash and door after they pry it open than whatever the value of the stuff in there. In 14 years, once did some kids get me. I say kids because it was at an outdoor movie with lawnchairs at the park. They stole my Ford change holder (full of course) and my LED flashlight; both out of the glove box. They left the Glock clip full of 40cal ammo, the hand cuffs, and the military flasher. Fisrt aid kit was pulled out from under the rear seat, etc.....I would have loved to walk up on that crap....
But for PARTS to watch out for....those of us with HARD HALF DOORS...full doors too, but you can lock those with the hardtop. For the 1/2 doors, here's a trick I do. get the ones with the locks (about 90 to 95). Remove the lock rod going from the inside lock button to the main guts. When you leave, lock it with your key....thats it. They reach in and can't unlock it to open it to lift it. wheel nut locks are good too. as is the tuffy console. Hood locks will slow down battery theft.

I had a fire extinguisher and some cassettes stolen while on base at Ft. Carson. Being in the service in the 80's, you had to save up a while or starve, in order to buy parts for your Jeep.

Ouch...I'd come out of my skin...I felt violated with my experience...
I had a few Chris LeDoux cassette tapes stolen in downtown buffalo. I thought I was the only "Old School Country" lover in the B-Lo, but apparently not. They also ripped a couple cassette tapes that I had bought in Argentina...Who still listens to cassettes? Why are you stealing my stuff? It's not valuable (like full steel doors)!!! ![]() Whoever it was thought it was funny because they left a beanie baby on my passenger seat. Stupid kids... You better believe I was waiting to hear "Cadillac Ranch", or "Stampede". I would have been kicking down doors and caving faces in for my $5.00 tapes

When I was a kid, my Dad's CJ-7 had the transmission stolen out of it. It was inside the fence at the body shop he ran.
They left all the bolts and stuff in the passenger floorboard, though. I've had my top cut twice on mine. Radios stolen at least 3 times. Console stolen once. Jacket stolen from inside. Speakers, tools, etc. They also left my KC lights on after a failed attempt at stealing the radio, so I also had a dead battery to boot. They couldn't get the radio that time very easily, because I had a thick metal strap holding the back of it up...so the bent my dash trying to pull it out, and then smashed the face plate of the radio when they couldn't. |

i had someone steal a pair of my hard doors...........
unluckily for them, the PO modified them to fit the woodgrain dash, and so all they got was a rotten shell all cut up with a hacksaw....

One of my friends had a good point about this:
After one of the thefts I mentioned in my earlier post, I said to him that just once, I'd love to walk up on someone stealing stuff from my Jeep. His reply was, "No, you don't. Then he'll end up in the hospital, and you'll probably end up in jail and he'll sue you to boot". When I get my Jeep running, maybe I'll move to Texas, where you can shoot someone for stealing ANYTHING on your property, and it doesn't have to be a life-threatening situation. |
