Paint Color

Hey all, I have a '77 cj5 that is brown in color, original I think. Overall, the paint is in pretty good shape except for a few spots. I think the color is mocha metal flake but not sure. Does anyone know what colors were available in '77 and whether you can buy say a quart?

Any local PBE jobber that has been in business for a while should have old color books to refrence. I work for the Southeast's largest independent PBE jobber and we have books that go back to the twenty's. What you will find is sometimes different paint companies call the same color by different names, don't ask me why they just do.

Your paint code is on the firewall tag by the master cylinder. It's the middle # and letter in the second row of digits.

Thanks for all the help! This forum is awesome.

Now I just need to learn to do a little bit of mild body work.
