No problem. If you follow the instructions you will do fine. One thing to keep in mind is that you will need a battery charger in Step 9 - detailed instructions are included in the installation instructions. This is used to apply low current to the system to check for any issues before trying to start your jeep. No biggie, I like this as a way to check things out before connecting the battery.

wow, just checked the prices on these, the 10106 is $406 and the 10110 is $576, not sure the 110 is worth the extra $160

It is like adding the powerbraid that protects all the wires....the powerbraid retails for over 200. The 10110 is 474 on 4wheelparts.com after you add it to your basket, and then you get the rebate on top of that. so 374 for a harness that retails for alot more....not to bad.

Is this a $100 cash back rebate or is it $100 off your next painless performance wiring harness? I'm confused!

At first I thought it was off the next purchase, but after reading I am pretty sure it's off the purchase price.

Get the 110, it WILL be worth the price. A pre terminated harness is the way to go. There are other wiring looms outthere on the market. I got the Painless 110, and the instructions were very good.

The only thing I have to say if you have a fiberglass body, like I have, although Painless says the loom is for a "fiberglass body" it really isnt. Make sure (if you have a fiberglass body) you have good grounding "stations" for the engine and dash.

The description in the catalog shows the 110 as a "replacement" harness, while it calls the 106 an "upgrade" harness.

I know next to nothing about wiring so that explains my confusion, but I guess I assumed the "upgrade" harness was their way of scrapping the stock wiring and replacing it with their version of a full harness, while at the same time I assumed their "replacement" harness was a duplicate of the factory set up. It also says the 110 doesn't support computer controls.

What kind of computer controls do you need?

Any aftermarket FI should come with a harness that needs to be used with that fuel injection. This harness will most likely replace most of the wiring in the engine bay.

If the original jeep harness is going to be swapped with the 110, then just don't connect the wires that are not needed. This will be determined by the FI kit/harness that is being swapped in.

I have a Howell Fuel Injection kit waiting to be installed. If you can wait a week or so I can give a more detailed explanation.

I used the 100 harness in my 76CJ7, it was easy. Had it swapped and running in one weekend. Instructions are very good.

I'm in the middle of putting the 110 now. The 110 does come in loom but it's not powerbraid, it's just the standard black cheap loom. The only complaint I have so far about the harness it’s so generic I won't use about half of the wires since my CJ is a 76 and does not have much for electronics. At least it does not have too few circuits.

I also recommend you find a place that sells the plastic connectors that hold the loom to the sheet metal. I had a hard time finding the sizes I needed at the Local auto parts store. I eventually discovered the auto paint shop sells just about every fastener and grommet you could ever want.

Since we all know a thread is worthless without pics!
