Opinions on Used CJ7 Frame

I am looking at options to repair the rear half of my frame. PO did a half @ss
job welding some plates in and patches here and there. It is OK but just does
not seem/look/feel right. Any comments on this frame - just the rear part -
front of the rear spring hangers back?

Seller is asking $250.00 - about an hour from my house. Seems high to me
since it was T-Boned. I can weld OK but have some friends that know about
welding that can help. I just did not want to get into a total frame
replacement. Thanks!

No way no how, buy a complete frame or rebuild yours with box steel.

Flat pallet freight it and he would be money ahead, especially if it is one of the later boxed versions.

I bet shipping on it would be over $400 if not more.

250.00 for 1/2 a usable frame and was hit up front? No way. Pass.

OK - Thanks for the responses. I think i will buy new repair sections.
Looks like it will work out cheaper and possibly be an easier fix.

I purchased a good restored, and covered in POR15, frame on Craigslist. A total frame swap really wasnt that bad. It was worth it. Check the measurements and make sure it's not bent. The guy I purchased from was between Atlanta and Columbia SC. He had three others he was restoring and selling. Good guy.

Once we got the old frame off, I couldn't believe how many areas were almost to catastrophic failure and we couldnt even see when the tub was on. It wasnt until we removed everything that we saw how dangerous the old frame really was. We looked at patching parts of the visible parts, and I'm so glad I didnt.

I had not intended to replace the whole frame but may have to re-think this.

No place to work on my CJ with winter coming.

I had same experience. Frame was broken behind rear shackle but when we got the body off the frame it was weak in a number of spots. Glad I replaced entire frame.
