Only 2 spring leaves in CJ5?

I am resurrecting a custom "65" CJ5 which was first put together from several CJ5's back in early90's and then sat unused for essentially 20 years.

I have never done anything to the suspension springs, no lift or anything, and don't intend to lift it. Recently I discovered that there are seven leaves (leafs?) in the rear but ONLY 2 leaves in the front. Is this normal? Should I add more leaves to the front, especially in light of its small block V8? How many, etc.?

That's not how it left the factory. The older CJs left with thick packs of multiple leaves. How wide are they? The stock springs would be 1.75" wide.

CSP, thanks for the reply. Here's what I've been able to find. The front springs (2 leaves total) are slightly wider than the rear springs (7 leaves total - stock?) but only about .040. However, the 2 front spring leaves total together about 7/8 in. thick while the top 2 leaves in the rear total about 5/8 in. and the other 5 leaves average 1/4 in. each. Any idea what I'm dealing with? Suppose the front springs are aftermarket meant to deal with the V8? I can't find any identifying marks on the front springs.

How wide are they? Remember, they are just leaf springs, no need to measure differences of 0.040".
