One more carb question

Maybe I should have added to the prior post, hopefully I don't offend anyone for not. Just a little background. I has having some major carb issues so I decided to rebuild it. After finally getting the float adjusted just right, it seems 1st and 2nd gear are great, there is a little hesitation going into 3rd and then once I'm running about 55-60 and hit the gas it just don't have the kick I'm expecting. Any insight or what it could be or is this just normal? 1978 CJ7 304 w/ MC2100

I see a lot of people running that carb on the 258 or the 4.0L.
Personally, I like running the Holley 470 truck avenger / 4 barrel on my 304. One spring will fix any top end issues you are having with your 304 V-8
