Hello,
I'd like to know from anyone with experience with this if the omix ada or the crown heavy duty (u joints on both ends) steering shafts will be a worthy upgrade over the oem shaft. my stock shaft is worn and Id like to replace it, just dont know if my situation requires a $260.00 Borgeson shaft. 1" body lift and a 2.5" shackle/spring lift with 32" tires on a 79 cj-7.
Ive installed two of them. Both in trail Jeeps. Easy install and no complaints. Works great.
Installed a Flaming River one many years ago. Its still fine too
I bought one and it seems to be pretty good quality, but i havent used it yet. Still need to get the jeep back together first. I think its worth it thought to get rid of the original bell fitting at the steering box end.
Thanks everyone!
It came, and Its on. $103.00
It's a little short with the 1" body lift. it seems safe, it fit the grooves.
I really like the improvement.

Did you completely extend it first? Mine has a 1" body lift, and my steering box is moved 1.5" forward, and I had plenty to reach.
I completely extended mine and lubed it up before installation. It was a little stiff at first. Once lubed, and worked in and out, it could easily be completely compressed and extended by hand.
