OEM air cleaner for 258

I am looking for a OEM air cleaner for my 258 CJ7. Anyone know of a good source? I keep checking Ebay but they are IMO pricey.

Craigslist, J&W Auto Wreckers, Collins Brothers.....be prepared to pay in all of those choices, sorry.

Got mine right here from a member, and for a fair and good price.

They do show up on eBay at good prices, but don't last long.

I'm looking for one too. I keep wondering if an air cleaner off of something else would give the same functionality.

I heard Collins wants $199 each. Now that's crazy. I have seen a few on Ebay go $50-70.

I paid $90 for mine, and was happy to pay it, since it was the hard-to-find 4-bbl version.

Here it is after I cleaned it up some.

When I bought mine the PO didn't even have an air cleaner on the carb. I had a GM 283 with 2 barrel carb sitting on a stand off my 64 impala. It fit right on and I had no additional vacuum hoses or anything to hook up. Worked for me for several years.

I have one but it does not have any of the vacuum stuff on it. Tear drop design for power brakes. I can snap pics if you want.

I assume you're looking for stock look or have an inspection issue

I've got one from a YJ, but it has some rust holes on the bottom which could be fiberglassed (I had metal tape over them for years).

Pay shipping and it's yours.

[btw it has the air valves etc.]

No reason why it won't as long as it clears everything. I went to a junkyard and found an air cleaner assembly for a Dodge with a four barrel carburetor so that it would fit over my four barrel carburetor.

VACJ7, I would like to see it. Please post some pics. I am currently running a new Weber 32/36 with the breather that came with it. I am going to buy an adapter and use the oem style cleaner. No inspections issues, just a little more protection and cooler air in the warm months.

It is less than perfect but I used it for several yrs. The heat door opens with my finger, do not know if the vacuum can will open it. Several ports on the back have been sealed. Couple ports have been capped or plugged with rubber stoppers. The neck where it sits on the carb was modified by the previous owner. He cut it shorter for some reason but it still worked. I don't have the bracket that attaches to the valve cover that the air clearner sits on. Ha, the more I describe it the crappier it sounds!
