Nutter Bypass Help..

I tried the Nutter bypass last night..
Clipped the orange and purple wires a little up from where they come out of the Ignition module and clipped the orange and purple wires after distributor plug in..
Ran an orange and a purple from Ignition module to distributor plug in..
Tried to start Jeep, would not start..
It seems as soon as you turn the key to start it , it wants to start, but will not..
We hooked everything back like normal( pre Nutter), fired right up..

Any ideas..
I have heard so much about the Nutter bypass and how great it is..
Wonder what is wrong..

Did you double check to ensure you didn't have the wires crossed?

Try one at a time. First bypass the purple, try to start if it works move to bypassing just the orange. That would tell you whether one is the correct wire and if you've bypassed something else.

The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left .

I just installed an MC2100 from Ebay guy..

I have not adjusted timing yet

I can try one wire at a time, see what happens..

Had time to try this again..

tried the bypass again..
Cannot get the Jeep to start.. Acts like it has no spark..
Hooked all wires back up like original and it starts, no problem..

Guess I will not have the bypass unless someone has heard of this happening..

Search the forum. I have seen similar threads in past years but can't recall what the issue was.....but it seems to me it was either a bad ground at the distributor or ICM....or it was the ICM itself that was pooched.

I just did a quick google search and found a couple different threads that mentioned the jeep would run fine in stock configuration but not nuttered.....until they replaced the ICM.

The advertised position for a topless, dirty jeep girl has been filled......by my wife. Thanks to all that applied.
<------------and yes, that is her.
