NOS for a v8, i'm scared

http://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/pts/257713895.html

what every ones opinion on this kit i am not considering it but i thought it may be good for a few laughs.

how long would any amc v8 last on that or how long could the 258 last one that

wouldnt it redline every time

and how realistic is 150 horses i think my engine tranny and d35 would drop under an extra 150HP

I dont think the older AMCs would handle nos. Most engines cant handle it without being rebuilt a lot. One of my friends does some drag racing and hes got to rebuild a lot so he doesnt destroy the block. As far as hp is id trust the axle to handle the hp its about torque anyways on breaking em. I think if you had small tires and aftermaket shafts you could handle it now the 258 might just blow up but i think that would depend on how old it is and how good of shape.

well if its a dry shot system I wouldnt get it. those things are crap and kill an engine. wet is the best by far. also 150 is reasionable for a nos system. i have seen about 300 more HP when on full blast. I dont know how long the engine would hold up but it would do all right if not on a full blast and not for a long time.

Check out the powerblock on spike TV they installed a nos kit in something that shouldnt take nos and the engine held up to a loarge amount of nos.... if anything you could get it for the purge abalities and looks. just use CO2 instead of NOS

I would be tempted to give it a try, there are a few hills (ledges) that we have some issues with right foot down and this might be the cure......

150 shot of nos is not that big of deal stock pistons can handle that on pump gas.if you are woried about over reving the engine you can put a window switch in and have it shut down the nitrous at the rpm you like.if you plan on going over 150 shot thats when you need to start changeing to forged pistons race fuel and other things.
