Is the rotor inside the distributor. Have you verified the rotor turns. he rotor could be shorting out also.
Do you still have the presotlight ignition installed?

yes, it is still installed, i bought a new distributor cap and the new rotor came with it, i have went through every pissible connection and wire brushed them so i know it is not corrosion or calcium deposits. .

I like that.... It's probably not a typo..

Still check to make sure it turns in there.

Are you using a spark checker to see if you havea spark at the plugs? Sometimes trying to hold it to the plug to see if it jumps from the end won't work.

*IF* you are getting 'Strong Spark' from the coil EVERY TIME THE DISTRIBUTOR TRIGGERS THE MODULE...

that means the COIL WIRE, DISTRIBUTOR CAP, OR ROTOR isn't transmitting the spark energy like it's supposed to.

I've found MANY distributor caps and coil wires that are 'BAD' right out of the box, so it doesn't surprise me.
-----------------

Pull one of the spark plug wires off the distributor cap,
Plug it into the coil,
Put an old spark plug in the other end,
Wrap a wire around the threads of the old spark plug,
And ground the other end of the wire to make a 'Test Plug'...

(ELECTRONIC IGNITIONS, EVEN A PRESTOLITE, SHOULD NEVER BE 'DRY FIRED' WITH NO GROUND FOR THE SPARK PATH!
You WILL kill the coil and potentially the module if you keep cranking the engine with no ground path for the spark energy!)

If you get a fire every time the distributor triggers,
then you have a coil wire, distributor cap, or rotor problem.
(distributor cap doesn't need to be on when you have a test plug directly attached to the coil)

Mine was doing this, it was the drive gear on the distributor. It was stripped.

Guess this guy is new to things...

I AM 'TeamRush' and I developed this upgrade you link to for the Jeep community....
And I'm currently answering some questions for Terry Mason as we speak.

Secondly,
This is a '76, so it has the Prestolite ignition.

There is NO UPGRADE for a Prestolite ignition.
