No CJ of the Month contest?

How come all the YJ's get to have all the fun? Just saw they have a contest for YJ of the Month...AND they get to win a prize! So..who sets that up and what do us CJ's have to do in order to do something like that started. Anyone know? Anyone interested?

...maybe I'm just stalling going to work today?

the REAL prize is owning a CJ...

those poor YJ guys- anything to make themselves feel better about those headlights...

*disclaimer- reagrding the author of this ill-fated humor attempt; not only does he currently NOT own a CJ of his own, he also previously owned 3 of said YJ's, and it's rumored he liked them at the time (and may still).

You know.. the other day I came up to a red light. Across the intersection was a YJ. When the light turned green.. I noticed that the driver was looking at me.. so I gave him the friendly jeep wave. He started with the wave, but quickly flicked me off instead. Kind of did it like a "AHAA you thought I was waving.. but I flicked you off HA HA".

Ever since then.. I've looked at those YJs differently.

I think there is a reason Jeep NEVER went back to the square headlights....

"Why be Square???..."

In my Jeep education I was taught that Jeep made a big mistake and realized it and fixed it and that is why we no longer see square headlights in any other model of Jeep.

CJ- Civilian Jeep (code for BadA$$)
YJ- "Y" did Jeep do it???

I agree though too...just owning a CJ is reward enough

How about using something like the 'thumbs up' icon already available in the posts for people to click to nominate someone for JOTM.

By using that (or a new one dedicated to JOTM) then only members that are actively participating in this community woudl be selected (eligible)

Then at the end of any give month, the moderators could tally up the results and take the top 3 click nominated jeeps that month (by total thumbs up votes accumulated during normal posting activity) and create a vote-off poll with a link to that jeepers gallery for everyone to vote on..... the highest votes in the pole get JOTM..... Maybe get a free t-shirt as prize or something to go along with bragging rights....

Just a thought......

I would think it best to keep it simple - just let the folks vote on what they want to be the JOTM - for what ever reason - by letting them vote on any jeep they choose without criteria or restrictions.

I'm doing some research on this topic. My biggest fear is getting bogged down with 500 PMs/emails with everyone's "here's my rig" pics/story.

I've touched base with a YJ Mod to see how they run their contest. Basically, he uses a dedicated email account for the contest submissions (pic, description..etc.). He then chooses the "finalists" for the month and posts them up with a vote.

I'd like to keep myself more objective. I don't want to be the one selecting the finalists or else I'm gonna win every month myself..

I'm open to suggestions. However, keep in mind, I may "subcontract" some of this out and you could be the one I ask to do it...

I think the CJ of the month contest sounds like a good idea.

I'd enter mine, it ain't very pretty, but at least it's got round headlights
