New Wire Harness For My 85 CJ7

I have several wiring issues in my recently bought 85 CJ7, I am looking at cleaning it up and rewiring it this winter and I am wondering what is the best recommended harness for this model? I know of the painless brand but I would like to get suggestions from some of you seasoned jeepers out there.

Centech is good, too.

anyone out there ever use ez wiring harness? I'm doing a frame off on my 79 cj-7 and am starting to shop harnesses. Looks like EZ is significantly cheaper, but knowing nothing about these things and having no real experience with this type of wiring project I'm not sure I should be skimping on price. Thoughts?

The quality of the EZ wire is as good as anything else. They are just bare-bones kits, that's all.

I used the ez in my 78 cj, it was pretty simple and the wires are labeled.I have no previous experience and I figured it out

Question: Did the EZ come with all the connectors you need, or did you need to get them off your old harness?

Look up Jeephammer's posts on "Wiring 101"

Lots of info on connectors and tools and how to wrestle them off the old harness on to the new one.

Ez wire does not come with factory connectors you supply them from your harness. I used it on my 77 bronco build. Like stated just bare bone but still a good kit.

I used the Painless kit to completely rewire my '76 CJ5 and have nothing but good things to say about it. I did it over ten years ago, the newer kits are even wire-terminated, with proper terminals, plugs, etc.

The time now is 03:41 PM.
