Ok guys i picked up a new toy the other day. I am in need of some help on what rear end and front end are in this thing.
It is a 1980 cj5 with an exteded wheelbade of a cj7. Lift kit and body kit, i thik 8-10 inches. Has spyder front fenders and cut and protected rear fenders. 39.5x15x15 tsl. 4.56 gears and a t176 or t177 4 speed. Have not narrowed down the transfer case yet. 304 v8. so here are some pics and any help would be very appriciated. Thanks for all the help.

That sure looks to me like the ubiquitous AMC20 rear/DANA30 front combo. To be fair, I'm not so good that I'm sure I'm right, and I wouldn't mind seeing them from a bit more distance, but that's how it looks to me...

Yep thats a AMC 20 and a Dana 30 up front. There is some really scarry stuff going on there. Lift blocks up front are a no-no, the steering is all wrong, and the rear shocks, I'm not even sure they have any travel.
Hope you got a good deal on it.

But any help would be very much appriciated. this is my first front and rear leaf 4x4 and this is also my biggest im used to about 3-4 of lift...

Yep, the new pics helped my old eyes a lot, and that is an AMC 20/ Dana 30, as someone else stated. There are a ton of people here who can help you more with the lift/steering issues than I can. Good Luck!

How does it handle on the road?

To answer your question about the lift blocks, do a search in this forum for and it'll explain what has been mentioned.
