Yeah, that's the best it ever worked. That cable is no longer there...no cable, no pedal assembly, nada. Couldn't even get to the pedal unless I tried sticking my foot behind the front bar of my roll cage anyway!

But you can't seriously be saying that there ever is or was a CJ with an e-brake that actually worked!?

I'm working on a T-case output parking brake (Looking back at 1942) using a motorcycle caliper, a machined disc, and a hand operated E-brake lever to actuate it.

Beat it to fit, paint it to match!

Wheel, Wrench, Repeat.

How do you score this? The 82 8 is mine, the 80 7 is mine and my dad's and the 71 5 is my dad's.

Heres another one not sure how to score...... My 8 before the restoration, my best friends 79 7 Golden Eagle (MOSTLY ORIGINAL), and his father in law's 7 Laredo with factory 401.

That would be cool to see...You going to do a tech thread on it? I'm sure there would be many interested in copying it.

Let me change my phrasing..... DEALER installed 401 when the jeep arrived from the factory with a 360.

Still pretty nuts! I thought the only V8 they offered stock was the 304. What an option that would have been haha.

Corrected again.....DANG! Ya'll are just too smart....mostly i'm just not informed enough. Regardless of what it came with off the truck the dealer installed the 401 before it ever hit the lot for sale. Hinkles Jeep did this all the time. There are a bunch of Dealer original jeeps around here that have the original "dealer" (I'm not saying factory anymore) motor in them because the people bought them new and ordered them that way and still are driving them to this day.

Im going to do a full write up on it once my CJ is back on the road. Once its drivable again, then I will worry about the small stuff.
