New to the site but not to the jeep comunity

I have a newly finished ground up restoration '86 Renegade I'll up load pic's of the build soon......I Also have my 401 at my engine builder....The task at hand is between 525-600 hp. Tq should be 480-545 lb/ft. I'll upload pic's of the build as it progress's......Nice site and hope to share info and pic's with a lot of you....

Are 44's enough to handle that much power turning nearly 40 inch tires? I don't know much about it, but always think of 44's as like one step better than stock. Sounds like a sweet setup though!

Yeah...that's a bit much tire & power for Dana 44's. A 35"-36" tire is about the safe limit for a 44 with a stock to mildly built engine. Sounds like a nice rig, though.

I'll run the 44's to failure lol .... For real though I've seen 44's take a lot of abuse I do however think I'll push the limit's of it's capibility's, but I like the clearance associated with the 44 compared to the 60. But if change is need'd they will be made with a 60 swap....Thanx for the input, I'll have pic's up soon of the rig...

Yeah...I thought about it more when the muddin' part sunk in. The smaller axles usually hold up better in the slick stuff than they do on hill climbs and rockcrawling.

yeah, i guess there's only one way to find out if they're strong enough! now let's see some pics, it sounds like a sweet rig!
