Just an observation, you only have half the body mounts showing, there are galvanized inserts that go in the mount centers so when you bolt it the washers bottom out on this sleeve so the poly part is 'captured' by the washers and sleeve making an up and down shock absorber. This prevents overcompression and blowing out of the mounts.

Check the third part down on this page:

lol - I was just looking at those last night - thanks. Wasn't 100% sure if I needed them. I used the black with hardner on the frame as well - was in a hurry cause temps where dropping so it isn't perfect. This weekend is going to be nice to I will make sure to follow the directions to the "T". It does appear to be more resistant to scuffing and scratches - has a nice shine to it as well. Though hard to compare since I haven't used just the paint without hardner.

Not too much stuff - the dang garage keeps shrinking on me.

Looking at the rubber body mounts - they don't have the built in sleeve like the poly ones do. So would a person still need those inserts on the poly bushings?

Hey man, great build. Kinda nice seeing others go through the same fun that I did! Take a look through my build, I did the YJ tub swap, had to rebuild the body mounts, as well as other frame portions, and stretched my rear end and comp cut on my 79 CJ7. Went with XJ springs in the rear for a good stretch. Been happy with the way it looks thus far, but haven't been able to flex it out off road just yet. Build looks great though! I got a little stalled on mine when I ran out of big stuff to do, so please keep it going and don't stop until you are done! BTW...what are your plans with the burnt center console from the YJ?

Hey - yeah I read through your build thread awhile back when I was working one of my 12hr night rotations. I thought about the XJ rears, but decided to stick with waggy rears since its less modifications for now...... Sucks - I got a set of waggy fronts for free, but one is messed up, and now the waggy I bought they are sagging real bad now too. Probably end up buying a new set of 44044 waggy's soon (actually once the buyer comes and picks up the remainder of my waggy donor rig). Been pricing out my next items - and good god, I hope I win the lotto soon.......

You probably don't want the center console (if thats what you are inquiring about). The top hinges are very tight (could be sprayed and freed), but the bottom is rusted out. If that don't deter ya, heck you can have it - lol. If it weren't for getting plates and destroying my polaris radiator I'ld have about 1k in "jeep mod money"..

The rubber mounts I recently got have the same built in sleeves as the last set of poly mounts I bought, you just can't see them, they are under the rubber.

The poly mounts I put in back in 2000 plain, like yours, thinking the 'built in' sleeves were proper and figured on reusing them last winter when I put a new frame in. Only 2 were salvageable, the rest had overcompressed and blown out.

They need the steel inserts to be structurally complete.

Got the front of the frame painted, and been sandblasting more parts. Now comes the fun part, I have no more "stuff sold" money, and have to start dipping into my own pocket book - lol. Going to search for my tranny mount on my next off days, and need to buy complete fuel and brake lines.

I should have gone this route myself, I wanted a V8 and originally went for a SBC and changed my mind and picked up a 258. A Waggie/Chero/J10-J20 is probably the most economical way to get a V8 in a CJ if it was not orignally a 304.

Great job on the build!

Also taking the 727 which was rebuilt with 15k on the clock.
