Finally some real pictures of the Jeep out of the garage. ALMOST ready for reg and inspection, all lights are sorted out, except the brake switch needs to be adjusted or moved because the pedal doesn't come up enough to disengage the light. The horn also needs trouble shooting (it works direct to battery, so I think the steering wheel switch is dead). From there I have a handful of small things to wrap up light rear seat install, glovebox lock, soft top install, new headlights, etc. Goal is to get it road legal and wrap these other things up over time.

Brake lights work, reverse lights work, horn sporadically works, and rear seat is bolted down. I need to chase down why passenger low beam isn't working, and it is off to get it inspected in the next week or two.

Lights fully working and the Jeep is registered. First legal ride to gas station was a success. Looks like oil and temp gauges still need help and speedometer bounces, but I'm a happy guy.

You need manifold vacuum for the brake booster. Should connect under the carb or at the bottom of the carb.

I like the white. Mine was white during the second incarnation.

Thanks, I connected that a while back (although not under the carb). All is well.

Looks like my reverse lights are NOT working since fixing the brake lights. Not sure if it was a fluke, or short that had them light up before. I'll need to sort that out before inspection, but at least it is road legal.

Updated shot from this morning! First commute with the CJ to the train station. Dropped it off at the shop for an alignment... its first work done by anyone but me.

Just need to mount lower door hinge so I can figure out the latches, but not too concerned since doors won't be needed much.

Turns out the soft top that came with the Jeep project in a box is in great shape. Score!

No pics, but current status is that I got oil pressure gauge working, fixed stereo power lead to proper circuit, tightened a few bolts, trouble shot reverse lights and ordered new reverse switch.

I finally got brake bias valve connected to wiring harness and the brake light is on now. Looks like it maybe off centered when bleeding. Another thing to deal with after inspection.

Reverse lights are fixed, sort of. Bad connection from engine harness to Trans harness with the return lead connection dead. I jumped it for now and will get it inspected next weekend.

Countless hours spent on that issue.
