Congrats on your new CJ7 and welcome to the forum. You will enjoy both.

Can anyone tell me about those head rests ? His 81 Laredo has 'em, my 83 Laredo did not. Neither does my 85 Laredo. Is it that neck snapping power of his V-8, ?

One and the same, Jody is a great person to know, and had tons of knowledge and parts. Only problem I have is it seems we get to chatting for hours on Jeeps when we talk. His garage is like a jeep museum.

well, judging by the stamp, that's a Bestop rear seat. did they offer them with headrests at some point?

I think that is the first time on JF that I've seen someone who used to own a Jeep/ and the current owner link up (without prior knowledge)

Wow.....that is pretty cool you found me on here. I would love to talk to you about the jeep any time.

So lets start with you telling me everything you know about the jeep in great detail.

So is it me or is this like a dream come true for any jeep owner. The PO has found me and is willing to talk to me about my new project.

alright well if you havent already dont redo the brake lines those should be good unless some one tore it up before you got it. umm what you see on the odometer is true, i rebuilt the engine so thats how many miles it has now. honestly i could go on forever. to say the least that jeep you have is a true legend. it was really my fathers and he bought it from his best friend who had to get rid of it and when they were younger in highschool they drove around and did god knows what in that jeep so for him to sell it was like selling one of his kids. but we ended up trading that jeep and our camper up at the preowned jeep store for the 05 rubicon i have now. if theres anything you need questions about that you think need replacing just let me know and ill tell ya. but its crazy that i found you on here i was just searchin around and typed in 81 laredo and there it was

well its been layed over, but no worries didnt tear anything up. we were going up a hill on some powerlines the incline was so steep everytime we would hit it the carb would go out. so finally we got half was up the hill and it cut out. which led to us rolling backwards 50 feet. the worst part is when we had to cut the wheel so we wouldnt drop off the other hill we were already on. long story short it rolled to its side. chain in the back came out and went threw the passanger side hardtop window. prob the scariest wheelin ive ever done. glad the jeep was good though
