Registered User | It all depends on how much you want to lay out for a base Jeep. If I were you I would find a 4 cyl CJ7 or wrangler YJ; so say 83-95; and that way it will cost you less $ and then you could do your Chevy swap and that way you have a strong healthy foundation to no rust, good metal to build on!!!!! CJ5's just alittle small for my taste but some guys like them for tight trail truns. I had a CJ5 before. Now I have 2 cj7's. One for street/weekends andone for off road play!!!!
