glad to have you

Only in America do you have the God given right to be loudly opinionated about something that you are completly ignorant of.

After having motorhomes and boats which hit you with $1000 every time something breaks the jeep seems cheap.. it only hits you for $300 at a time

Obviously I was being sarcastic. Hell I spent $300 10 minutes after I signed the title. As far as plans, I really don't have any solid plans. Just winging it.

Two things:
First, Jeeps are as expensive as you want them to be. I paid 2500 for mine back in 84. Put about another 2500 in mods and upgrades over the years. That is 5k for 30 years of ownership.Pretty cheap in the long run.

Second, if you are wanting to modify, sit down and put together a build plan. This will keep you from doing work you don't need and buying stuff that won't work.

I really like the input so far. The first couple of things I want to do are make it a little more driveable. I picked it up for $3250. I added a tailpipe and ran in out the drivers side rear (still getting fumes). I have ordered seats, and I am going to get into the dash/window. The dash needs removed and I think the window is going to be a problem because of rust. It is also going to head to the mechanic for a card adjustment after the plug wires/cap/rotor are replaced.

My immediate plan is to roll coat the interior with bed liner. We have water dogs that like to ride. I will get more pictures up in the next couple of days. It came with full soft top/doors and bikini top and half doors.

Tell me what that is and I will measure it, as long as it is not something X-rated.

Couple of photo's Ordered seats, body look improvements, getting a new window frame and eventually a window. The dash is going and I am going with the naked dashboard. The Carb is acting up and will go to the mechanic in the next couple of weeks.

Welcome to the forum and the addiction! I am not a mechanic either! Just my 2 cents, but spend some time on here researching about your carb problem, try some of the advice and take some great pictures and post them for the crew to look at and give you feedback. You will learn A LOT, possibly save A LOT and have a new skill that every jeep owner and guy should have. Not to mention a reason to go buy more tools.

Good luck with it!
