New to the forum. '83 CJ7 gearing question.

Hi gents - I've been relying on this forum for a few years now, but have never posted, so here goes...

My jeep has 33's, a T5 (currently being rebuilt), and a healthy fuel injected 4.0 out of a donor YJ. Differentials are stock, and I believe the gearing to be factory, as well.

I'm in Los Angeles and it sees a lot of freeway. She tends to lose speed on any inclines, and I've read that regearing would solve this issue.

I'm thinking 4.11 or 4.27, but not sure what the pros and cons are.

Would 4.11 or 4.27 do the trick and help with maintaining speed on inclines? Any negatives I should be mindful of?

Thanks!!

Are you planning on staying with this size or going to a taller tire?
