Sure is going to be a shame to use such a fine truck for parts, but it sure solves all my problems. See, I found all the original sheet metal for the tug. Cab, hood, fenders etc... Everything I need. So with the Wagoneer axles, and the Sheetmetal for the CJ10-A, I now have all the pieces in place, except a bed. I may use that free CJ5 tub just for the back end after all, but may just wait and see what happens when I get to that point.

Here is the look I'm going for:
I just found this thread via the Pirate4x4 CJ-10a builds thread. FWIW, I built the '10a in your photo. If you have any questions about how I addressed things, let me know (craig.emenaker AT gmai1.com). It was a fun little project. I have a build thread for it on greatlakes4x4.com.

Now I'll continue to read the multiple remaining pages (after pg. 3) of this thread. EDIT: Just finished reading...nice progress with the build.

Craig

Thanks Craig,
I'm having a blast with it. Hope to get the bed mounted this weekend.

Bed is installed, tail gate in, lights, fuel filler, shock towers bolted on, etc...

Oh yeah, almost forgot. I had an old GM 10 bolt axle with lockouts, so I took them off and put them on the CJ10 since it didn't have them.

I'm nearly completed on this one. I'll get insurance and an inspection, and will be driving. Man, there is so much room between the bed and frame that I can easily get to anything under there I need to. It is easy 8 or 10 inches above the tank.

I will have to install the back bumper also...

Maybe a future addon would be a tool box with doors on each side so you could store a hi lift, straps, blocks, etc. Seems like a perfect place!

Are those shock towers still relatively cheap from the dealer? I haven't bought any for many years and paid somewhere around $15 each.

It's so cool glad to see the tailgate on, still wondering how you will finally mount the rear bumper

I can't remember exactly how much they were, but I think it was around $12 ea. $8 shipping, plus tax because I bought them from the same state.
They fit nice.

Today, I wired up all the lights so I can get an inspection now.

I started looking into what it would take to get a rollbar installed. I have a YJ and a TJ set of bars I can cut up. The YJ ones look just like a CJ set. The TJ ones are squared off up top.

Great build! I also noticed you have a Scout 800B w/345 and 727. I have a '71 800B Comanche with a 345/727 combo. I just finished the wiring and I am hoping to get it on the road soon. It's going to be like 110F here this week so it is gonna have to wait for cooler weather. I like how many Jeep guys are getting into Scouts. Maybe that is one of the reasons they have gone up in price since I bought my 2.

My signature only shows the one scout. There are four sitting in my yard right now only because i just sold one to make the wifey happy. There used to be a Scout dealership here, and the owner passed recently. His widow sold me all the old parts and trucks. I picked out what I wanted, and sold the rest off. You should have seen the rare Wagonmaster that went for $600.

Anyways, thanks for looking!
