Need a steering shaft clamp

I am in desparate need of the clamp for the top end of the lower steering shaft. If anybody can hook me up I will be super appreciative.

Good luck with that. I bought a shaft from quadretec IIRC, and the top clamp it came with was weak, and broke when I tried to torque it. I ended up finding one in a bone yard about 90 miles from my house. The factory one is a lot more robust. The only place I know where I could get one the guy wants to sell it with the shaft. There is a small chance he might have a used one laying around. However, he is open odd hours, and I work long hours, so it would be a while before I could check it out (Maybe this weekend). If I get the chance would you like me to check it out? I went everywhere I could think of, including many, many dealers and parts places, and boneyards, so you have a heck of a search ahead, unless one of the guys here has one he can part with. Send me a PM and let me know.

Jim

Thanks for the offer. There is a bone yard not too far away that has a lot of old stuff. I've never been there so I don't know if he has any jeep stuff. I will go check it out Saturday. Our local bone Yard has a rotted out CJ but of course the whole steering column is gone.

Might also try looking at GM mid sized cars.. Camaros, Caprices..etc. Same Saginaw column.. I wouldn't be surprised if you're able to find a clamp that fits.
