Need pictures of the suspension setup of GOLIATH from 2000 TOP TRUCK CHALLENGE

i'm looking for pictures of the suspension setup of Goliath from the year 2000 Top Truck Challenge.... Goliath was the yellow CJ....

figured if anyone had pictures saved it would be the CJ guys!

the following are the pictures i have, which were taken mostly after my friend bought it after the TTC event. He sold it and now i want to recreate it's suspension (or possibly improve on it as i'm told the front didn't flex nearly as well as the rear) and need more pictures....

thanks in advance

The front is a run of the mill SOA setup with SRS. The rear is an SOA as well combined with a 'goofy' shackle (essentially a Revolver...same basic idea, slightly different execution) and semi-3/4 elliptical setup (a partial main leaf attached upside down to the frame). Very Y2K RTI score-centric...you wouldn't catch anyone dead running craziness like that nowadays...it's not particularly stable...too much loosey-goosey stuff.

A nice flexy suspension but I don't know if I would try it against my house.

on the rear, it does appear to be a huge revolver in a sense, but i don't see the 3/4 elliptical setup. am i just missing something in the picture? it looks like there is an anti-wrap bar on the axle truss, but that's all i see aside from the leafs, weird shackles, and crazy flex....

On further review:

It's actually not a 'normal' semi-3/4 ellip...the single leaf is mounted perpendicular to the springs hanging off of those outriggers...

I'd give you more details, but I'm going to need a picture of it actually driving up the interior walls of a house... after having driven through the exterior pilings.

Okay, I tried to mark this up a bit so its easier to see.

Yellow shows the outrigger arm thing thats attached to the end of the frame. It appears the protrude outwards from the frame at roughly a 90 degree, with a slight downward kick.

The red line shows the elliptical half spring. It's a bit hard to make out, but its there. It points inward from the outrigger.

The blue is the flex joint that basically allows the spring to angle in when the axle is at an extreme flex, much like this.

The green is the leaf spring, attached to the axle in an SoA configuration.

On top of that funky flexo setup, the springs are also mounted inward quite a bit, very close to the axle's pumpkin.

edit: apparently I can't attach images inline

Look at the front of the springs where they attach to the frame. It looks like the springs are mounted closer together there than they are in the rear. Mad flex but no stability on such a narrow set up.

awesome keyser, thank you! that picture helps a lot as i wasn't totally sure what i was looking at.

i didn't realize, until you guys pointed it out, exactly how inboarded the springs were.... DEFINATLY not going to be able to do that to my daily driver. maybe once she turns into a trail rig i'll play with that idea, but not right now.

thanks again guys... i've got some more thinking, planning, rethinking, replanning to do before i take any steps towards the suspension rebuild.....

as for the deck.... we live at the beach. that 12x12 probably goes 20+ feet into the ground... a lil jeep won't hurt it
