Need help adjusting 2BBL Carb
The carb in my 85 CJ7 needs some adjustment but I don't know where to start. When I first start the jeep and it is at high idle it is working fine. After a couple of minutes and the idle calms down is when the carb sputters and stalls out unless I keep giving it gas. My knowledge of carburetors is limited. Any help would be appreciated.

May need more than ajusting...you may need a rebuild kit for it...only cost around $20-$30 to buy it...if it's the original carb it may be time...usually the rebuild kit gives you the adjustments also...

What is included in rebuild kits? I purchased one but it only has risers, gaskets and a needle in it. Is there a hards part rebuild or will that do it?

mine did the same, after days of fixing vacuum leaks I decided to rebuild the carb and bore out the idle tubes. Runs like new now, and I too had limited knowledge on carbs. Search the forums, i got all my info here. hope this helps

Should also have the accelerator pump/diaphram, gaskets, jets...doesn't look like much but makes a difference. I had the same problem with my 67 CJ with a 225 V6...probably the accel pump is the problem...the rubber ring usually breaks down over time...
