Need HEI Dist for Ashley's 304 Rebuild.

I found this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMC-JEEP-CJ5...077b37&vxp=mtr

We are rebuilding her 304 and I though I would buy her this but not sure if I should get this one or ?

Anyone know of a good one to buy if this one is junk?

Also, will the new cam gear (that we are installing) work w/this or ?

How do you match up cam gears to a new dist if a MFG one on a rebuild will not work?

Where would I buy the set of cam gear/dist gear?

Sorry for all the questions but I have never done the HEI/cam gear swap/set up.

Thanks,
Jim

That is the same HEI we're running in my Dad's CJ5 with a 304. The only thing we did was swap out the gear with the one off the old dizzy. Other than that, it runs great. Easy to tune, easy to hook up.

Beat it to fit, paint it to match!

Wheel, Wrench, Repeat.

So you punched out the roller pin?

What envolved the hooking up/tuning?

Thanks, but do I use the old cam gear and my old dist gear on a new rebuild ?

Thanks,
Jim

Kinda hard to tell which that is just with pictures.

There are a ton of threads on HEI installs.

Its dropped in like any distributor. I hooked power up through a relay. The trigger wire is the + for the coil.

Beat it to fit, paint it to match!

Wheel, Wrench, Repeat.
