Mystery cj engine, cant figure out the year

I have a 54 willys all original except the engine. I cant figure out what year engine I have so it's pretty hard to find parts. It is a straight 4cl, it has a carb and points so its pretty old and it looks to be around 2.5L. If anyone knows how I can figure out the year I would realy be thankfull
